Biography
Awarded the first European Digital Leader.
Rob van Gijzel has been a member of the NBTC Supervisory Board since February 2014. Van Gijzel was the mayor of Eindhoven from 2008 till 2016. In that capacity, he was also chairman of Metropool Eindhoven and of the Brainport Foundation. In addition, Van Gijzel is also chairman of the Intelligent Community Forum Foundation, an international group of "smart cities" with its headquarters in New York. Prior to his mayoralty, he was co-owner of the Politea consultancy that focuses on research, training, communication, advisory services and organisation. From 1989-2001, Van Gijzel was a Member of Parliament representing the Labour Party.
