Testimonials / Reviews

Georgina Miranda is probably one of the most inspirational people that I have ever had the privilege to meet. Beyond the extensive list of super human achievements that Georgina has completed in her own personal life, she is a leading light as an entrepreneur, a business leader, an adviser, a consultant and an inspiration to all those who are fortunate enough to engage with Georgina at whatever level. Georgina is a social entrepreneur, an adventurer, a speaker, consultant, a writer, a founder and a CEO of She Ventures. She is a true leader, an inspiration, an ambassador and one that is focused on, and making a real difference in the world today. Georgina has a very rare gift and set of skills and experience that I am sure will take her to even more atmospheric heights into the future.

Simon Elliot- Vice President Strategic Partnerships Aramark

Georgina is one of the most forward-thinking entrepreneurs that I've worked with (and by entrepreneurs, I mean all of them, not just women). She approaches the vast challenges we all face with a grace and ease, consistently putting collaboration with her colleagues and partners at the forefront of the agenda. From start-ups, to diversity and inclusion in the outdoors, she's got a wealth of knowledge and personal experience that is invaluable.

Jen Gurecki- CEO Coalition Snow.

Georgina recently shared her Everest Summit experience with the Slalom Consulting Bay Area team from our San Francisco office (with a broader national Slalom audience participating via teleconference). Getting to hear first hand what people go through in their quest to summit Everest is truly eye-opening, and for Georgina to have done something so incredible in support of a very important cause is tremendously powerful. It was beyond inspiring to hear her story and I'd recommend any corporation seize the opportunity to have Georgina speak to their organization. It was truly motivating. Positive feedback poured in following her presentation, and those who were able to attend in person hung around following the presentation to ask questions, share their climbing or philanthropy stories, and overall just hear more from Georgina about her experience. I'll definitely be looking for other opportunities to hear Georgina speak and support her cause through Climb Take Action. Georgina, you're amazing!

-Alicia Santini- Director Slalom Consulting

I’m so glad I had the opportunity to hear Georgina share the story of her Mt. Everest summit at a company event. Her story is so amazing and motivating - not only her incredible physical achievements, but also the work she is doing to help the women of the DRC through Climb Take Action. She really speaks from the heart about overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals. It’s a powerful presentation and I left truly inspired and energized. Thanks, Georgina!

Elizabeth Downhower- Consultant Manager Slalom Consulting

Georgina is a real inspiration. It's amazing how dedicated and passionate she is about the Climb Take Action cause. She came to the Sierra Club Peak Climbing Section to speak about her Everest climb and she did an amazing job. Everyone was mesmerized by her photography and storytelling. I hope to see Georgina speak again, if not have an opportunity to climb with her!

Transformation Begins with a Shift in Mindset

When looking to transform ourselves or our organization, the first step is in shifting our mindset. We can only achieve what we can believe. We have to move past our current reality and not let that determine our limitless potential. Georgina has never let her starting point determine her end point. Hence, most of her big challenges in life have started from ground zero and taken her to places like the summit of Mt. Everest. She lives by her motto, “The extraordinary is always possible, never limit yourself or life’s potential.” Is your mind your ally or holding you back?

The Greatest Adventure We Take is the One Inward

This journey of life continues to teach Georgina the greatest adventure we take is the one inward and that sometimes the biggest mountains we climb are those in our mind. If we can learn to tame and train our minds, infinite possibilities become available.

Georgina credits the mountains, nature, a life of adventure, and the inward spiritual journey this has all sparked to shaping who she is today. She is passionate about sharing the gift of adventure, mindfulness, and wellness with others to help them unleash their power within and enjoy life more fully. So often we focus on the external to bring us purpose, joy, fulfillment, yet that all lives within us. External adventures in nature, on mountain tops, and in entrepreneurship have taken her on the deepest journeys within herself. What adventure awaits you?

How Mindfulness Got Me to the Top of Mt. Everest and Overcoming Failure

Georgina knows a thing or two about overcoming failure. In 2011 she made it to the Balcony of Mt. Everest (8400m/27,500 ft) and collapsed due to hypoxia (the potentially fatal deprivation of oxygen in the tissues). She had to turn around just 448m shy of reaching her life dream for her own safety. The summit sits at 8848m or 29,029 ft.

In 2013 she returned to realize a dream, but with a new approach. She knew training her body was not enough, training her mind was more important. When faced with the same hypoxia symptoms at almost the exact same place in her expedition, it was her mindfulness practice that got her to the summit. Being able to let go of the past experience, focus on the present, connect with her breath, and look at the situation with compassion changed the game.

Failure is hard. Going after something again you already failed at is hard, but you can’t let fear of failing again hold you back. In retrospect Georgina can now see what a gift her 2011 expedition was and how transformative it was for her life. Not only did it set her on her internal spiritual journey even deeper, it taught her how to fail, how to rise, and how to live life with a more mindful and compassionate approach. We only fail if we don’t learn. When we live with mindfulness, selflessness, and compassion we cannot only better lead ourselves, but everyone around us. We can try, fail, get up, and succeed.

Mindfulness at Work (also a workshop)

Bring transformation to your work and life with mindfulness. Mindfulness has been proven to transform stress, build resilience, while also training your brain to have better focus and happiness. Learn the basic principles of mindfulness and how to better integrate mindful moments and habits into your day to day to benefit you, your teams, your clients, and overall business.

What is mindfulness? “Mindfulness is the energy of attention. It is the capacity in each of us to be present one hundred percent to what is happening within and around us.” Thich Nhat Hahn In order to practice, the basic foundation is that in everything you do, you do it with your whole being. Just like athletes train their bodies for ultimate performance, we too can train not only our bodies, but our minds. Our minds need training to function at their best.

Corporate mindfulness and meditation training is being adopted at some of the most innovative companies across the globe such as Google, Apple and Virgin. Mindfulness at work helps people to be healthier, happier, more focused, more efficient, creative and resilient. Mindful leaders lead their organizations with compassion, selflessness, and mindfulness.

Dare to be You - The Most Courageous Transformation (also a workshop)

The reality is that your full potential is alive and waiting for you right now. This is because our full potential comes to life when we have the courage to live from our most authentic self, our true essence.

Reaching your full potential is more about unlearning and retraining-your mind. It’s about letting go of old stories, belief systems, and mindsets that no longer serve you. It’s about taking an honest look in the mirror and being clear about what you want for yourself and your life and everything real or unreal holding you back at this moment. It’s about dropping the fear that has been part of what’s held you back up till now.

Getting to the optimal you, is not a quick fix, no one can do the work for you, and involves perhaps one of the bravest journeys you will ever embark on. In many cases the person you “thought was you” needs to simply die for there to be space and energy for the rebirth of the real you that’s been a bit buried all this time (death of ego).

As the saying goes, the bravest thing you can do is be yourself. It takes the ultimate act of courage.

After working with so many clients globally as a management consultant and executive coach, then with individuals for personal coaching, much of the motivation lies in people seeking transformation.

No one needs “fixing”, most of us need unraveling, delayering, releasing, giving ourselves permission to be free, to shine, to express every aspect of our being. I look forward to joining you on your journey and to seeing the beauty of YOU unfold.
