Dr. ir. Carlo van de Weijer is one of Europe’s leading minds at the intersection of AI, mobility and technology. With clarity, wit and optimistic realism, he reveals how innovation will reshape our world — smarter, cleaner and more human. He is a renowned European expert in future mobility, artificial intelligence and technological innovation. As the Managing Director of the Eindhoven AI Systems Institute (EAISI) at Eindhoven University of Technology, and with a distinguished career in the global automotive industry, he offers a uniquely grounded and visionary perspective on the future.
Biography – Carlo van de Weijer
Dr. Carlo van de Weijer obtained a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and completed his PhD with distinction at Graz University of Technology. He has extensive experience in the automotive industry, including senior leadership positions at Siemens and TomTom. Over a decade ago, Carlo returned to TU/e as an alumnus to coordinate mobility research. Five years ago, he was given the opportunity to establish the Eindhoven AI Systems Institute (EAISI), which he has led ever since.
Alongside his work at the university, Carlo is actively involved in consultancy as a fellow at Deloitte and in the corporate world through various advisory and supervisory roles. This broad professional engagement keeps him closely connected to industry needs, ensuring that the programs of the EAISI Academy are perfectly aligned with real-world practice.

In addition to his role as General Manager, Dr. Carlo van de Weijer is also an active lecturer in bespoke executive programs. With his expertise in mobility and Artificial Intelligence, he provides valuable insights that are fully tailored to the specific needs of organizations and professionals.
